If you want www. part of a domain name to be shown after typing just domain.com do the following:

Add:
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
rewritecond %{http_host} ^domain.com [nc]
rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

to the .htaccess file.

*Of course put your domain instead of domain.com
